Raised Pinto Bean Doughnuts

1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 pkg dry yeast
6 cup sifted flour
2 cup pinto beans blended
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup evaporated milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pour boilng water over shortening and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Soften yeast in warm water. Sift dry ingredients. Mix milk, well beaten eggs , vanilla, yeast, pinto beans, and half of the flour into the shortening mixture.
Beat in remaining flour. Cover and let set in warm place until doubled in bulk.
Put dough on heavily floured board kneed several minutes until dough does not stick to board. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut with doughnut cutter. Let raise again to double. Fry in deep hot oil. Drain on paper towels.
Put in paper bag with sugar or frost with maple flavored powder sugar frosting. Makes 24 puggy beauties.
