Peanut Brittle

Whole cooking process about 35 minutes.

1 cup hot water
2 cups sugar
2 tsp. soda
2 Tbsp. Butter
1 cup white Karo syrup
3 cups raw peanuts
2 Tbsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Mix hot water and white Karo. Heat. Add Sugar. Cook to thread stage about 12-15 minutes. Add butter-cook about 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Add soda and whip. It foams, be careful. Add vanilla and salt and beat. Pour out on greased tins. Cool-break.
