Mustard Pickles (Grandma Page)

3 qt pickling onions (peeled and ends cut off)
5 chopped or sliced green peppers
2 qt small cucumbers
3 qt cut cauliflower
Let stand 24 hours in 1 cup salt and 1 gallon water.
Mix the following together:
1 cup 1 Tablespoon flour
6 Tablespoon powdered mustard
1 Tablespoon Curry powder
1 Tablespoon Turmeric
Make these spices in to a paste by adding some of the vinegar listed below
Place the following in a large pan.
3 qt vinegar
4 cup sugar
Put in a bag the following:
1 Tablespoon celery seed
1 teaspoon ginger
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon cloves
Boil bag of spices in vinegar.
Add thickened spices (paste) gradually to boiling vinegar.
Put cukes, onions, cauliflower,peppers, and heat thoroughly stirring . Bottle while hot from pan.
Makes 18 pints
