Lace Sweet Pickles (Jean)

1 gallon good sized cukes washed. Do Not Peel. Slice cross wise paper thin.
Slice 8 onions and 2 green peppers..
Mix:
1/4 cup salt
1 qt ice water
Pour over cukes, peppers, and onions. Let stand 3 hours. Drain.
Place Cukes, peppers, and onions in jars.

Combine: 1/2 T ground cloves 1/2 teas tumeric 5 cup vinegar and 5 cups of sugar. 2 teas. mustard seeds and 1 teas. celery seeds. Place over heat and bring to a boil. Pack vegetables in jars. Pour boiling vinegar mixture in packed jars and seal.
