Prune Cake

Sift together
2 c flour
1 t soda
½ t nutmeg
1 t cinnamon
¼ t cloves
½ t salt
Cream together
1½ c sugar
1 c oil
Add 3 eggs one at a time. Add 1 c buttermilk alternate with flour mixture. Bake 30 - 45 minutes until done. Take out and poke holes in top with fork. Spread on frosting
FROSTING
Mix
½ c powder sugar
1 t Karo syrup
1 t vanilla
1 stick butter
After spreading on frosting, put back in oven 3-5 minutes
(1 cup chopped prunes may be added to cake mixture)
