½ cup butter
1 ½ cup brown sugar
1 t vanilla
½ cup coconut
1 cup flour
½ t baking powder
¼ t salt
2 T flour
1 cup chopped nuts
Cream butter and ½ cup brown sugar. Add 1 cup flour and mix to crumbly. Pat evenly into buttered pan and bake at 300 for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Beat eggs & 1 cup brown sugar and vanilla and mix. Add 2 T flour, baking powder, salt, coconut and nuts. Spread on pastry and bake 25 minutes more in 350 oven. Cut in 1" x 4" length. May be iced if desired. (double for regular dripper cake pan)
FROSTING
You may use chocolate chips and spread while bars are hot or use 5 oz Hershey bar or ½ large 9½ oz Hershey bar shredded. Spread chocolate while hot.
