1 cup flour
2 T sugar
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
2/3 cup cornmeal
2 T shortening
1 slightly beaten egg
2/3 cup milk
1 lb Hot Dogs (8-10)
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in cornmeal. Cut in shortening til corn meal mixture resembles fine crumbs. Combine egg and milk to cornmeal mixture stirring until well blended. Insert skewers into one end of hot dogs. Spread each hot dog evenly with batter. Fry in deep hot oil at 375 until golden brown. (4-5 minutes)
